About The Position

Under general supervision, responsible for the performance of general building and office cleaning; this includes sidewalks, steps, snow removal and other areas outside the Museum building.

Requirements

  • General building and office cleaning experience
  • Ability to do maintenance indoors and outdoors
  • High School graduate or possession of a High School equivalency diploma (GED) issued by the State of New York or certificate issued by the Armed Forces

Responsibilities

  • Sweeping, vacuuming, use of cleaning compounds, operation of machinery including rotary floor machines, as well as the cleaning of the exterior
  • Emptying wet trash/recycling receptacles and placing material into appropriate compactors or holding areas
  • Cleaning of exterior areas which includes emptying garbage, sweeping steps, removal of debris and snow
  • Cleaning of toilets, washbasins and other restroom fixtures and floors
  • Cleaning from ladders, rigs
  • Applying stain to floors
  • May be assigned to heavy duty moving work
  • Provide indoor and outdoor grounds maintenance duties as assigned by Buildings management
  • Other related duties
