Requirements

Current unrestricted NYS RN License
BCLS required
1-2 years of experience in the Operating Room
Ability to effectively communicate with providers, patients, and peers

Nice To Haves

ACLS/PALS preferred
two or more years preferred with scrub and circulating experience

Responsibilities

Assist in the organization and daily function of the operating room
Plan, implement, and assist in the oversight of patient care
Circulate and scrub cases, as assigned
Support procedural teams as needed to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency
Assist with room turnover and case preparation in accordance with sterile technique and infection-prevention standards
Adhere to time-out procedures and Universal Protocol standards
Maintain high safety standards for both patients and other staff
Accurately document care given according to center policies and procedures
Monitor stock levels, supplies, and equipment needs
Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and patient-centered care
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection-control practices, and performance metrics
Collaborate effectively with proceduralists, anesthesia providers, surgical techs, and administrative staff
Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned
