About The Position

NewYork-Presbyterian is opening a state-of-the-art ambulatory care facility in White Plains, NY in September 2025. This facility will offer a wide range of specialized adult and pediatric care. The Operating Room Technician will provide crucial support to physicians throughout a wide range of ambulatory surgical procedures, functioning as a scrub person, circulation assistant, and member of the surgical team. The role involves assisting in the care, preparation, and maintenance of supplies and equipment in the Operating Room. This is a per diem position working 1-2 days/week.

Requirements

• Certified Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Certification (NBSTSA) or if a new graduate, must supply exam date prior to start of employment. Certification must be obtained within six months of hire and complete a probationary period of six (6) months from date of hire.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must live within a commutable distance to NYP.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of experience as an OR/Surgical Tech in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Function as a scrub person, circulation assistant, and member of the surgical team.
• Assist in the care, preparation, and maintenance of supplies and equipment in the Operating Room.
• Provide crucial support to physicians throughout a wide range of ambulatory surgical procedures (e.g., orthopedic, sports medicine, and pediatric ENT).
