About The Position

Jersey Shore Ambulatory Surgery Center, located in Somers Point, New Jersey, is a state-of-the-art facility with four modern operating rooms, dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered outpatient surgical care. It offers a convenient, cost-effective alternative to hospital-based surgery, without compromising safety or outcomes. Physicians specialize in a range of outpatient procedures, including orthopedic total joint replacement, sports medicine, podiatry, ophthalmology, spine surgery, pain management, and general surgical procedures. The center maintains full compliance with the New Jersey Department of Health, Medicare certification standards, and AAAHC guidelines. It is partnered with Compass Surgical Partners, a national leader in ASC development and management. The center is committed to creating a comfortable and seamless experience for patients and their loved ones. The Operating Room RN provides direct patient care and serves as a patient advocate throughout the perioperative process, supporting surgeons and anesthesia providers to ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity before, during, and after surgery.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent
  • one year of OR experience required
  • Current RN license (NJ)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Strong teamwork, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs routinely and up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Windows environment)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as circulating nurse, supporting patients, surgeons, and anesthesia staff during procedures
  • Ensure patient safety and compliance with aseptic and surgical standards
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety, and professional development activities
  • Assist with orientation and training of new team members
  • Maintain accurate documentation and respond appropriately to patient and physician needs
