About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with on-call requirements. The nurse will deliver direct patient care in the operative setting, perform scrub nurse responsibilities, assist surgeons during procedures, and prepare and manage operating rooms, equipment, and supplies.

Requirements

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
1+ Years of OR RN experience
BSN

Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care in the operative setting, ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes during surgical and invasive procedures.
Perform scrub nurse responsibilities, selecting and handling surgical instruments to maintain sterile technique and support optimal procedural efficiency and patient safety.
Assist surgeons during procedures with hemostasis, suturing support, wound exposure, and patient positioning to promote clinical quality and procedural success.
Prepare and manage operating rooms, surgical equipment, and supplies to ensure regulatory compliance, infection prevention, and seamless interdisciplinary team collaboration.
