About The Position

As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at St. Anthony Hospital, you will provide direct patient advocacy and clinical support across a high-volume surgical department. This department features 17 suites, including a designated trauma room, a hybrid room, a CVOR, and a cystoscopy suite. The facility handles approximately 900-950 cases per month across various specialties such as General, Ortho (Trauma), Neuro, Spine, Eyes, ENT, GU, Robotics (DaVinci XI/SI), Vascular, Endovascular, Cardiac, and OB/GYN. While cardiac and neuro procedures have specialized teams, all other RNs are cross-trained for all remaining surgical services. Daily duties involve performing circulating functions, providing intraoperative support (managing sterile instruments and supplies), facilitating room turnovers, and restocking for subsequent procedures. St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center located in Lakewood, Colorado, offering a full range of medical specialties and healthcare services. It is also the home base for Flight For Life Colorado. Requirements

Associates Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
RN License in state of employment
Physical Requirements: Medium Work exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. constantly
Call required approx. 4 call shifts in 6 week schedule block.

Responsibilities

Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including, but not limited to, IV’s, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
Thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records. Document ongoing status, interventions, patient response and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner. Use information technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability. Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching.
Performing circulating functions.
Providing intraoperative support such as managing sterile instruments and supplies.
Facilitating room turnovers.
Restocking for subsequent procedures.
