About The Position

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring an Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room (OR). This is a Full-Time position for Weekend Days with on-call requirements. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Requirements

• ADN required
• Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• RN Experience in a hospital setting.
• OR experience

Nice To Haves

• BSN or higher preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
• Utilize the standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation).
• Adhere to the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health).
• Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
