This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Main Operating Room, which handles General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal surgeries. The unit has 16 rooms with an average daily census of 35. The nurse will utilize systems such as Epic and Pyxis and work with 2 DaVinci XI Robots. The role requires the ability to circulate and scrub. The facility provides scrub colors. The assignment has a maximum of 7 days for Release of Time (RTO) with blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th-12th). The schedule includes 2-3 weekends per 8-week period, either in-house or on call. Floating is rare but may be required within the facility and scope of practice. Call requirements include 7-8 calls in an 8-week schedule, with one weekend call and 1-2 weekday night call shifts. Call shifts are either 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. or 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Holiday work is expected if one or more major holidays fall within the assignment period, with specific expectations for working two out of three holidays if applicable. Full compliance is required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a two-week delay due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule. Candidates will undergo a pre-screen by clinical staff to determine fit, followed by a manager review if the candidate passes clinical screening and meets Piedmont guidelines. Clinical screens are handled on a case-by-case basis. Locals are accepted at the same rate. The number of non-billable orientation hours depends on the contract length.
