About The Position

Texas Orthopedic Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Operating Room to provide high-quality, efficient patient care. The role includes assessing patients before surgery, preparing patients and surgical areas, maintaining a sterile field, and collaborating with the perioperative team. The nurse is expected to support the Surgical Services team, deliver quality nursing care, and promote a positive image of nursing. The position offers opportunities to influence patient care through collaboration with a direct manager, hospital councils, and national nursing initiatives.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in an Operating Room setting.
• Current Registered Nurse license in Texas or a Multi-State Compact License; employees with a compact license must obtain a Texas RN license within 90 days of hire.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• CNOR certification.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of aseptic technique to maintain a sterile field and assist with procedures or prepare patients for surgery.
• Determine which areas need to be prepared for different procedures.
• Assess patients before surgery and establish that they understand the procedure.
• Ensure a timeout is conducted before each procedure with the perioperative team.
• Demonstrate teamwork and adaptability, and serve as a resource to the Surgical Services team.
• Deliver quality nursing care and promote a positive image of nursing.
