The Operating Room at University Hospital serves an adult population with surgical services including Thoracic, General, Hepatobiliary, GYN, Urology, Plastics, Orthopedics, ENT, Dental, OMFS, and Abdominal Transplant (Liver, Kidney, Pancreas, Intestine and Multi-visceral). The unit also manages a large oncology patient population across 23 beds. Nurses on this unit gain skills in circulating and scrubbing, with training available on the daVinci XI robot. The unit culture is highlighted as multi-disciplinary, providing high-acuity patients with highly skilled care.
