About The Position

This role involves delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process, including data collection, assessment, identification of patient problems/needs, and evaluation of care outcomes. The Registered Nurse will coordinate and direct patient teaching activities and collaborate with health team members. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, the nurse conducts initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyzes data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates its effectiveness. Responsibilities include administering medications safely and serving as a point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments. The nurse also acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Requirements

  • Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required)
  • Associate of Nursing, nursing (required)
  • Diploma in Nursing (required)
  • Must live within 30 minutes of facility

Nice To Haves

  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (preferred)
  • Bachelors of Science, nursing (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care.
  • Coordinates, provides and directs patient teaching activities.
  • Coordinates the care provided by health team members.
  • Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Analyzes assessment data.
  • Creates a plan of care.
  • Implements treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
  • Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Bon Secours Mercy Health policies and procedures.
  • Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
  • Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
