About The Position

Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Operating room in Suffolk, VA! This is a full-time, day shift position that will float between the Obici and Belle Harbour locations. The ideal candidate will have completed a PeriOp 101 course or have experience in scrub or circulator roles in an Operating Room. Call requirements vary, and flexible scheduling is available. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is offered for qualified candidates. The department supports seven operating rooms and performs a diverse range of procedures, utilizing advanced systems like DaVinci robotic technology. The team works across Obici and Bell Harbor hospitals, with opportunities to assist in Obstetrics as needed. Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • Scrub and circulator experience in an OR required
  • Candidates who have completed a PeriOp 101 program required
  • Candidates who have previous Operating Room Experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
  • ACLS required within 1 year of hire.
  • PALS within 1 year of hire.
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
  • Assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation.
  • Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
