About The Position

Shriners Hospitals for Children is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) for our Operating Room department. This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their safety, comfort, and optimal recovery.

Requirements

• RN license in state of practice
• BLS
• PEAR, PALS, ACLS: Obtain within 1 year of employment as required by hospital

Nice To Haves

• BSN
• 2+ years acute care experience
• Prior pediatric acute care, plastic reconstructive surgery and laser experience a plus
• OR experience

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to pediatric patients within the Operating Room, and performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe during surgery.
• Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family.
• Functions within the Shriners Hospitals for Children Professional Practice Model (FOCUSED), which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
• Provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
• Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources.
