About The Position

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring an Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room (OR). This is a Full-Time position with a Rotating shift and requires on-call availability. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role also involves adherence to standards of professional performance such as ethics, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess the clinical knowledge and skills required for specific clinical areas.

Requirements

• ADN required
• Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• RN Experience in a hospital setting.
• OR experience

• BSN or higher preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
• Utilize standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation.
• Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
