About The Position

IU Health is seeking Registered Nurses for Operating Room positions. They offer a supportive and collaborative work environment focused on patient-centered care. The O.R. Fellowship Program is designed for new graduates to learn scrubbing and circulating, with support from educators and preceptors. Experienced OR nurses will undergo bi-weekly orientations during Day shift. The role involves Level 1 Trauma Services and various surgical specialties including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Cardiovascular, General Surgery, and more. The unit has 29 ORs, including hybrid and IMRIS rooms, and holds Magnet designation. The team culture is active and engaged, with members participating in committees and interdisciplinary teams focused on process improvement.

Requirements

  • Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN).
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program (exceptions may apply for candidates with over two years of acute care experience, subject to CNO approval).
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • New nurse graduates or recent nurse graduates are encouraged to apply through a specific pipeline requisition.
