About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse-Operating Room/Circulator for a 13-week travel assignment in Sitka, AK 99835. This is a full-time position with 4–10-hour shifts, Tuesday-Friday, and requires on-call duties. The role involves preparing the operating room, ensuring sterile environments, monitoring patients, documenting procedures, and coordinating with the surgical team. The start date is contingent upon the timely processing of fingerprint cards.

Requirements

  • Must have Circulator position experience
  • 3 yrs OR circulator experience
  • BLS/BCLS certification
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (BSN or ADN)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • A valid, current, full and unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska
  • Current ACLS and PALS certifications
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
  • Must pass a drug screen and background check
  • Complete additional facility onboarding forms as assigned

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Critical Access Hospital and/or Rural Operating Rooms strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment and supplies
  • Ensure all surgical instruments are sterilized and functioning
  • Monitor the surgical team to maintain a sterile environment
  • Assist in positioning the patient safely before the surgery
  • Verify patient information and surgical site before the procedure begins
  • Document all aspects of the surgical procedure in the patient’s chart
  • Coordinate with anesthesia providers to ensure patient safety
  • Manage the flow of the operating room and anticipate the surgical team’s needs
  • Handle specimens taken during surgery and ensure proper labeling and documentation
  • Assess the patient's condition and readiness for discharge from the post-anesthesia care unit
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families before and after surgery
  • Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and reorder as needed
