A2 is a dynamic 29-bed unit where a dedicated team of nursing and healthcare professionals delivers high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population, including medical-surgical, inpatient oncology, and hematology patients. Our nurses are highly skilled and deeply committed, working collaboratively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to provide holistic, patient- and family-centered care. Demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship. Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care provided to patients.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a school of nursing
  • One year RN experience
  • Current unrestricted State of CT Registered Nurse license
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications
  • Basic knowledge of Nursing principles and practices
  • Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions
  • Communicates effectively in order to provide technical or complex information as well as instruction
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians, managers and patients
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, be flexible and a team player
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment
  • Commitment to customer service
  • Basic computer knowledge in order to enter/retrieve data
  • Requires high level of analytical ability in order to gather and interpret information from various sources
  • Able to take the appropriate action in response to changes, circumstances, problems and/or emergency situations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Oncology Nurse (ONC) certification preferred
