About The Position

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their 2 South Oncology team. This 26-bed unit provides exceptional, quality care for patients with various cancers, specializing in leukemia and lymphoma treatment, radiation, gynecologic cancers, hematologic disorders, and end-of-life care. The RN utilizes the nursing process and standards of professional performance to provide competent nursing care. This role offers a valuable career in oncology or a foundation for future nursing paths.

Requirements

• Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing
• BLS within 90 days of hire
• ADN required
• Experienced RN's and New grads welcome!

• BSN or higher preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
• Utilize standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation.
• Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
• Provide care for patients with all cancers, specializing in leukemia and lymphoma treatment, radiation, gynecologic cancers, hematologic disorders, and end-of-life patients.
