Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their 2 South Oncology team. This 26-bed unit provides exceptional, quality care and prepares nurses for a career in oncology or other nursing paths. The unit specializes in leukemia and lymphoma treatment, radiation, gynecologic cancers, hematologic disorders, and end-of-life care. The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance standards such as ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health are also integral to the role. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet the standards required by specific clinical areas.
