About The Position

Sentara Health is currently hiring for an RN to join the 2S Oncology team at Virginia Beach General Hospital. This is a PRN position with a Day shift. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. The 2 South Oncology department at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is a 26-bed unit that provides exceptional, quality care. This unit specializes in leukemia and lymphoma treatment, radiation, gynecologic cancers, hematologic disorders, and end-of-life care.

Requirements

  • ADN required
  • Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing
  • BLS within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or higher preferred

Responsibilities
