About The Position

This role focuses on providing specialized, dignified care for oncology and end-of-life patients. The primary goal is to ensure patient comfort, manage symptoms, and support personal legacy. The nurse will advocate for the patient's quality of life by meticulously monitoring complex symptoms and pain levels, providing the care team with real-time insights for rapid, compassionate adjustments to treatment. The role involves orchestrating the 'circle of care' by coordinating between oncologists, palliative specialists, and chaplains to ensure a seamless, holistic experience for patients and their loved ones. Additionally, the nurse will empower families through education on disease progression and coordinate discharge or transition plans that honor the patient’s final wishes. The position requires executing complex clinical protocols with precision, accurately translating physician orders into life-sustaining or comfort-focused actions while maintaining the highest standards of safety and empathy.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
