The Registered Nurse (R.N.) independently provides holistic, individualized care using the Nursing Process for patients routinely seen on the OB/Postpartum unit. This role serves a patient population that includes geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn patients. The position requires an advanced level of clinical competency, nursing judgment, and teaching skills, with a commitment to improving patient care quality. The R.N. independently performs general and unit-specific clinical skills and contributes positively to the Sierra View Medical Center Department of Patient Care Services and the nursing profession. Responsibilities include assessment, treatment, and care appropriate to the ages of the patients served, requiring the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs and understanding of growth and development across all patient groups. The role also involves working scheduled hours, including holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call duties, and participating in emergencies and community disasters as a designated disaster service worker. Employees have an affirmative duty to report perceived misconduct and must work cooperatively under pressure to meet deadlines.
