About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the OB/GYN department at a hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. The assignment is temporary and lasts for 13 weeks, starting on 10/26/2026. The role involves 40 hours per week with 8-hour daytime shifts, focusing on outpatient and perioperative patient care within the OB/GYN department.

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• AWHONN fetal monitoring certificate
• 2+ years of outpatient OB/GYN nursing experience, including conscious sedation and termination services
• Ability to work daytime shifts in a hospital OB/GYN setting

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for OB/GYN patients across prenatal, gynecologic, and postpartum care.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status during prenatal visits, labor, and postpartum, including fetal monitoring per certificate requirements.
• Administer medications and procedures within scope, including conscious sedation and termination services, per physician orders.
• Develop, implement, and adjust nursing care plans; coordinate with the OB/GYN team; provide patient and family education; plan for discharge or transfer.
• Assist with perioperative OB/GYN care (OR/PACU) as needed; maintain aseptic technique and patient safety standards.
• Document accurately in the medical record and respond promptly to changes in patient condition; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
