About The Position

Humber River Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their Nursing Resource Team within the Staffing Resource Centre. This team is trained to cover all Medicine and Surgical Inpatient Units and offers opportunities for training in specialty areas. Requirements

  • Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS certification or demonstrated competency.
  • Recent Medical and/or Surgical experience is mandatory.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a variety of staff, patients and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Excellent physical assessment skills is required
  • Good patient/family teaching skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, with an ability to set priorities and work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively/collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years experience preferred.
  • Coronary Care I or actively pursuing the Coronary Care Certification is an asset.
  • Commitment to complete Coronary Care II within 12 months of starting on the unit is preferred
  • Applicants that have taken the physical assessment course
  • An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Registered Nurse duties in all Medical and Surgical Inpatient Units.
  • Availability for all rotating shifts.
