About The Position
Registered Nurse (RN) NICU at Texas Health Frisco, a beautiful new 93-bed acute-care hospital located in Frisco, Texas. This full-time position is in the NICU Department, which highlights a strong team culture, a Couplet Care Model, and averages 120 births per month. Texas Health Frisco specializes in women's services, outpatient surgery, NICU, and emergency medicine, and has earned Magnet® status, Joint Commission certifications, and is a Baby Friendly designated facility.
Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent care and maintained quarterly required
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
- NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days required and maintained annually
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- Two years of NICU experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
