About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the NICU department at Texas Health Frisco. Texas Health Frisco is a 93-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital and medical office community located in the North DFW area. The hospital specializes in women's services, outpatient surgery, NICU, and emergency medicine. The NICU department highlights include a beautiful new hospital, strong team culture, Couplet Care Model, and an average of 120 births per month. The role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. It also includes incorporating age-specific safety and infection control measures, initiating actions to meet patient information needs, and maintaining continuity of patient care.

Requirements

Diploma in Nursing required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required or BSN preferred
One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent care and maintained quarterly required
NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days required and maintained annually

Nice To Haves

Two years of NICU experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
