About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) NICU Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. This role is for a Full Time, 36 Hours position working nights (7:00pm – 7:00am) in the NICU Department at Texas Health Dallas. The NICU is a fast-paced Level III NICU that provides care for patients 22+ weeks gestation and utilizes Cooling and High Frequency Ventilator. The department offers supportive leadership that encourages certification in High-Risk Neonatal Nursing. Requirements

Diploma in Nursing required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days
NRPA – Advance Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training required within 90 days and maintained annually

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
One year of NICU experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
