Registered Nurse, NICU - Part Time, Nights
About The Position
Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Part-Time, Nights position in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This role involves delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The nurse will incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures, maintain continuity of patient care between shifts and transfers, and initiate actions to meet patient and/or significant others' information needs. Texas Health Dallas is a Magnet-designated, full-service hospital with a renowned Level III neonatal intensive care unit, specializing in various areas including women's services. Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
- RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days
- NRPA – Advance Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training required within 90 days and maintained annually
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- One year of NICU experience strongly preferred
- Opportunities for certification in High-Risk Neonatal Nursing
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
