Our Level III NICU functions within the Perinatal & Pediatric Services Center in Bloomington Hospital. This unit has 21 beds and provides care to babies 26 weeks gestation and above. Our focus is on premature babies & newborns. With this facility being created December 2021 we use state of the art technology to provide the best patient care possible.

Requirements

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • All shifts will be required to pick up 2 on call shifts every 6-weeks.
  • Obtain your NIC and IBCLC certifications
  • Gain exposure to Pediatrics, L&D, and NICU patient populations
  • Refine time management skills by balancing patient to nurse ratios
  • Develop the clinical technical capabilities to develop your career
