The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of pediatric patients from admission to the department through discharge or transfer. The RN provides expert care and education to patients in a clinical setting, acts as a patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel. They are knowledgeable in clinical nursing procedures, disease processes, interventions, and pharmacological agents, and manage patient loads within assigned timelines. This PRN position in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) requires a minimum of 12 shifts per 12-week evaluation period, including two weekend shifts and two holidays per year. At least 50% of shifts bid on must be in the RN's home department if available. The RN will also be floated to other units and must be oriented to a minimum of two units.
