This full-time Registered Nurse position at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center involves floating between the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Critical Response Unit (CRU) and Labor & Delivery (LD) as a transition RN, with a 75% focus on NICU and 25% on LD. The role requires working 3 - 12 hour night shifts, including every other holiday and every other weekend. The nurse will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key aspects include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position also involves administering medications, treatments, and therapies, demonstrating effective communication, pursuing professional development, adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics, and maintaining accurate EHR documentation. The incumbent may be required to float to other units or facilities within the designated service area and must demonstrate age-specific knowledge and skills for patient care.
