About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) Neuro Tele Dept. Bring your passion to Texas Health where we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104. Work hours: Full Time (7P-7A) Weekend and holiday requirements. Department highlights: Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team. Neuro Tele Department (30 bed) provides care to a wide variety of Neuro Tele patients with diagnosis such as Stroke, Seizures, Parkinson, MS, Medical overflow and Telemetry. This unit has had many DFW Great 100 Nurses and is known for their teamwork.

Requirements

Nursing Diploma Or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
Current BLS prior to providing independent patient care required
ACLS within 90 days required
CPI training within 90 days of hire required
One (1) year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required

Nice To Haves

2+ years of strong Med/surg, Neuro or Tele RN experience in acute care setting including charge/preceptor skills preferred
NIHSS within 6 months of hire preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
