About The Position

The Neuro Trauma ICU Department is a fast-paced, fun-loving, high-acuity unit that handles unique complex neuroscience cases and high-acuity traumas such as gunshot wounds, stabbings, and severe car accident injuries. The department offers research and education opportunities, opportunities for advancement, and National Certification Preparation and Courses, as well as initial test reimbursement and bonus.

Requirements

  • Diploma of Nursing OR Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • 1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse (RN) or completion of an RN residency program Required
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS upon hire – Require upon Hire
  • ACLS upon hire - Require upon Hire
  • CPI within 30 days of hire
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • One or more years of ICU experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
