About The Position

Texas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Neonatal ICU/NICU PRN II position. This role is located at Texas Health Southwest in Fort Worth, TX. The facility is designated as Mother friendly, a Texas 10-Step facility, and a Magnet facility. The Neonatal ICU/NICU department is newly expanded with 16 beds and utilizes advanced equipment. The team is described as a family, offering opportunities for educational and career growth through a Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership.

Requirements

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required
• One-year experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required
• NRPA - Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days Required
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained 90 days

Nice To Haves

• BSN is preferred
• One year of Neonatal ICU/NICU Level III RN experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
