About The Position

Registered Nurse Navigator – Urogynecology IU Health North & IU Health Fishers Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Join IU Health as a Registered Nurse Navigator – Urogynecology , where you will play a critical role in guiding patients through their healthcare journey and ensuring seamless, high-quality care across the continuum. This position will split time between IU Health North Hospital and IU Health Fishers Hospital , serving as a key resource for patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary care teams.

Requirements

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Requires knowledge of personal computers using various types of word processing and database software.
  • Requires clinical work experience, medical terminology.
  • Requires understanding of medical record requirements, regulations and policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience preferred.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Specialty certifications may be required per unit/department specialty in accordance with the department provision of care.
  • Medical Surgical experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate care for assigned patients and develop comprehensive, individualized care plans across the patient care continuum.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for patients, families, and caregivers, providing education, guidance, and support.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of tests, treatments, referrals, and follow-up care.
  • Monitor patient progress and identify barriers to care, proactively addressing issues that may impact outcomes or patient satisfaction.
  • Advocate for patients by helping them navigate complex healthcare systems and access appropriate resources and services.
  • Facilitate communication among patients, providers, and multidisciplinary teams to promote coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, documentation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives within the specialty practice.
  • Balance clinical needs with resource utilization and financial considerations to support efficient and effective care delivery.
