About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Clinical Practice Nurse - Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional registered nursing services for patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs. These services include independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, a leadership role within the health care team, and coordination of patient care and discharge.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.
  • Current CRNM registration required.
  • Annual BLS Level C Registration/Re-Registration is required.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Recent O.R. nursing experience required.
  • Successful completion of the AORN Periop 101 on-line course within three months of the date of employment (if no previous Operating Room training/experience).
  • Successful completion of the WCCNEP EKG course when scheduled by the employer or as mutually agreed.
  • Adult Conscious Sedation/Procedural Sedation Education validation when scheduled by the employer or as mutually agreed.

Nice To Haves

  • Invasive Pressure monitoring experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated current perioperative nursing experience.
  • Successful completion of the AORN Periop 101 on-line course or equivalent Operating Room training/experience is preferred.
  • WCCNEP EKG course or equivalent preferred.
  • Conscious Sedation training preferred.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
