About The Position

Texas Health Alliance is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Mother Baby unit. This is a part-time night shift position, working 24 hours per week with two 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. The Mother Baby Unit is a Baby-friendly and Texas 10-step designated facility, featuring a 40-bed Postpartum/Newborn couplet care area, a 12-bed NICU, 4 OB/ED bays, 14 LDRs, and 2 OR suites. The unit handles an average of 170 to 200 deliveries per month. Texas Health Alliance is a 151-bed hospital serving the North Fort Worth area since 2012, and is Joint Commission-accredited with a Level III NICU. The hospital is also a Baby Friendly Facility and Pathways to Excellence designated hospital, and is Joint Commission Acute Heart Attack Ready (AHAR) Disease specific certified.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days of hire
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually within 90 Days of hire
1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program Req

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
Mother Baby experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
