Hawker Memorial Hospital is a 13-bed facility, including 4 acute beds and 9 aged care beds, proudly serving the Flinders Ranges region as part of the Multi-Purpose Service (MPS). It provides essential healthcare services including accident and emergency care, general medical care, palliative care, and a range of visiting allied health services. As a Registered Nurse/Midwife, you will provide person-centred nursing and/or midwifery care, assessing individual needs and planning, implementing and coordinating appropriate services to achieve positive outcomes. You will work with increasing autonomy while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and other agencies to deliver safe, effective care.

Requirements

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
  • Must have demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred nursing and/or midwifery care
  • Assess individual needs and plan, implement and coordinate appropriate services to achieve positive outcomes
  • Work with increasing autonomy while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and other agencies to deliver safe, effective care
  • Contribute to quality improvement activities
  • Support care coordination
  • Provide team leadership as required
  • Play an active role in health education
  • Support the development of students and new staff
  • Contribute to research and evidence-based practice
  • Provide guidance to less experienced staff and support safe, high-quality care delivery across the service
