Capital Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Mental Health Inpatient unit. This full-time, day shift position involves delivering quality patient care through the nursing process, ensuring patient safety, providing pain management support, and mobilizing resources for patient recovery. The role includes educating patients and families about their condition and treatment, formulating discharge plans, and anticipating age-specific healthcare needs. The nurse will also be responsible for handoff communication, proactive identification of patient education needs, and discharge planning with medication instructions. This position requires the use of discretionary judgment to modify care regimens and facilitate appropriate responses from the healthcare team. The nurse will collaborate with case managers and healthcare providers to resolve care issues and will demonstrate self-motivation in adjusting staffing patterns as needed. Attendance at educational sessions for professional development, participation in unit-based and hospital-based committees, performance improvement activities, Joint Commission readiness, and efforts to achieve successful patient satisfaction scores are also key aspects of the role. Any other related duties as required or assigned.
