About The Position
Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Cardiac Telemetry Unit. This 24-bed unit offers telemetry and eHospital monitoring in all rooms, serving patient populations including post-cardiac cath, CHF, and general medicine. New graduate RNs are welcome to apply and will participate in an 11-week Transition to Practice program, which is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program for new graduates. Experienced nurses new to this specialty are also encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- None required (experience)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
- Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program
Responsibilities
- Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation).
- Adhere to the standards of professional performance, including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Utilize clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required by specific clinical areas.
