This specific role is on an 18-bed unit dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to multi-specialty med-surg patients, with a specialization in heart failure and cardiac diagnoses. The unit emphasizes a partnership approach to patient care and seeks nurses with clinical expertise, a willingness to learn, a spirit of inquiry, professional engagement, and the ability to cultivate new relationships. Patient populations include those with Cardiac diagnoses, step-down patients, Respiratory Failure, Sepsis, DKA, and a variety of other diagnoses. The unit is described as an excellent place to build a strong nursing foundation and critical thinking skills while collaborating with a skilled nursing team.

Requirements

  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • ACLS required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the best, high quality, compassionate care to multi-specialty med-surg patients.
  • Specialize with heart failure patients and cardiac diagnoses.
  • Focus on a partnership approach to deliver excellent care to every patient.
  • Caring for Progressive level of care patients (stepdown from critical care).
  • Caring for patients going to cardiac procedures.
