About The Position

Raleigh General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Medical-Surgical unit. This is a full-time night position. The 4N department is a 44-bed medical-surgical unit with a 6:1 patient ratio, focusing on both surgical and medical cases, with a specialization in renal care. The unit is known for its collaborative environment, making it suitable for new graduates. Nurses gain experience with various interventions including lines, chest tubes, peritoneal dialysis, and telemetry patients. The Infusions Clinic and Dialysis Unit are also part of the department, staffed by specialized registered nurses.

Requirements

Current state RN license
Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire

Nice To Haves

One year of experience preferred
ASLS certification preferred

Responsibilities

Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs
Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings
Provides age- and condition-appropriate nursing care
Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record
Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient
