This is a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse position. The role requires the nurse to be proficient in a variety of skills including telemetry monitoring, managing various patient conditions such as dementia, diabetes, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, and anemia, as well as hip fractures. The unit has an isolation area for COVID patients and provides multi-level care, including stepdown services managed by separate staff. The nurse will be expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team, potentially reporting to work during catastrophic events or disasters. Consolidation to a Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, with preassignment to units as needed. RTO is limited to 7 days maximum. Floating is required, and weekend coverage is expected for 12-16 shifts per contract. The nurse must be available for daily classes during hospital orientation in the first week and pass EKG testing prior to the start date for this specialty. Scrubs should be navy/white.
