About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical/Surgical unit, specifically focusing on stroke stepdown patients. The shift is from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Floating to other units may be required. The unit has 64 beds and serves adult patients with common diagnoses including stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation cases, general medical-surgical conditions, pneumonia, and other pulmonary issues. The specialty equipment used includes IV pumps and N/G tubes.

Requirements

• Up to date resume that includes 2+ years of experience in MS with stroke stepdown experience.
• Documents travel experience.
• TRAVEL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Current AHA BLS
• NIHSS
• NURSYS Report
• Licenses verification with ACTIVE NY License & ALL active RN Licenses.
• EMR Exp: EPIC

Nice To Haves

• NIH IS REQUIRED FOR THIS UNIT (can be obtained prior to start)
• Drivers licenses with address that matches demographics
• RTO MUST be included at time of submission

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult patients on the MS Stroke Stepdown unit.
• Manage patients with diagnoses such as stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation, general med surg, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues.
• Utilize specialty equipment including IV pumps and N/G tubes.
• Float to other units as required.
• Document patient care using EPIC EMR system.
