About The Position

Sentara RMH Medical Center is now hiring a Registered Nurse for the 4 East Medical Surgical unit. This position is ideal for candidates who have experience or interest in caring for surgical patients that have had General Surgery, Gastrointestinal, OB-Gyn, Orthopedics, Vascular, Urology, Nephrology, and more. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is offered with no commitment or contract required. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. A 10-week Transition to Practice (TTP) program focuses on orientation and skill acquisition for Medical-Surgical areas. For new graduates, this TTP program is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program. The program includes formal delivery of fundamental nursing concepts and standards, exposure to Sentara policies and evidence-based practice guidelines, hands-on experience with a preceptor, and opportunities to network with peers. Virtual professional development sessions with mentoring are also available.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree - Nursing (Required)
