About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical Oncology for a direct-hire opportunity in Tallahassee, FL. This role involves collecting and analyzing patient data, formulating nursing diagnoses, administering medications and therapies, monitoring patient conditions, advocating for patient safety, educating patients and families, providing emotional support, collaborating with healthcare teams, maintaining documentation, and utilizing unit resources efficiently.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing.
  • Active Florida Registered Nurse License or Multi-State Compact License.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Acute Care Medical-Surgical RN experience.
  • Strong clinical judgment and autonomous decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a 1:5 to 1:6 patient assignment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • ACLS Certification (required within 6 months of employment).
  • Previous oncology nursing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze comprehensive physiological and psychological data regarding patients' health status and acute conditions.
  • Formulate nursing diagnoses, identify expected outcomes, and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Administer medications, oncology-related therapies, and clinical procedures as prescribed.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
  • Advocate for patient safety, quality care, and treatment effectiveness.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, procedures, and medication side effects.
  • Provide emotional and clinical support to patients and families throughout hospitalization.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Utilize unit resources, supplies, and technology efficiently to support patient care.
