About The Position
Southwest General Health Center is a 352-bed community hospital serving the Northeast Ohio region for over 100 years. As a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, we offer a full range of services. We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our 32-bed Medical Oncology unit (2D), which also accommodates Breakthrough Program patients and occasional telemetry patients. This is a busy unit, ideal for new graduates to develop their skills, with a friendly and supportive staff focused on teamwork and excellent patient care. We offer no rotating shifts, free parking, and convenient access to major highways.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
- CPR, BLS required.

Responsibilities
- Plans, provides, and directs patient care and teaching, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with patient care standards and physician orders.
- Acts as a liaison between physicians, patient, and family.
- Collaborates with other health care members.
- Assists in the orientation process of new personnel.
- May participate in health center and department committees.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age groups according to specific chronological age, developmental age, and/or psycho-social maturity.
