About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Med/Surg unit. This role is responsible for assessing, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The nurse will collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality care across the continuum and will work in conjunction with nursing service, ancillary services, physicians, patients, and families. The position requires the ability to be self-directed, quality-focused, and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. This is a full-time night position, working 36 hours per week in 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
• LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
• Relevant Work Experience
• 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Assessing, implementing, and evaluating care for various patients within the facility.
• Collaborating in establishing the plan of care, coordinating and implementing care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
• Analyzing comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
• Continually utilizing the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
• Employing strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
