About The Position
Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Full Time Weekend, Day shift in Suffolk, VA. This position is on the Medical-Surgical Unit, a 21-bed unit that sees a variety of patients. The unit offers a collaborative and supportive environment, ideal for both new graduates and experienced nurses. Sentara Obici Hospital is a certified stroke center and a designated Magnet hospital. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Requirements
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
- Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.

- 1 year of acute care (preferred)
- Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
