About The Position

Sentara Obici Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Full Time Weekend, Day shift in Suffolk, VA. This position is on the Medical-Surgical Unit, a 21-bed unit that sees a variety of patients. The unit offers a collaborative, supportive environment ideal for both new graduates and experienced nurses. Sentara Obici Hospital is a certified stroke center and a designated Magnet hospital.

Requirements

• Registered nursing License (Required)
• Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire
• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
• Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.
• 1 year of acute care (preferred)
• Previous healthcare experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation).
• Adhere to the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health).
• Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
